First of all to those who haven't figured it out yet, Apezone is a rock band. To be more exact, a band whose music is a mixture of metal, hip hop and funk. The clearest idea from the music you get by listening the music itself.

Apezone got started in Easter 1997 when Bengt Boy and Kornelius Popp were in a restaurant called Cafe Maestro drinking. Being very drunk the two friends desided to put together a band. Bengt became the bass player, Kornelius the guitarist-vocalist and on drums the two desided to ask their friend Big Daddy, nowadays known as Massive Papa, who agreed. Almost from the beginning the band realized the potential of the internet and got Jiddu, a friend too, to run the Apezone Website and the visual side of things.

The idea of the band was to play heavy music in Black Sabbath style. Besides Sabbath, the first songs were also greatly influenced by grunge gods like Soundgarden and Nirvana. First never released demo was made with this trio in summer 1997. The band was a trio until Christmas 1997 when in came a fourth player, a turntablist/rapper Sticky Finga. Stickys appearance brought a hip hop flavour to the music and it evolved to be more than metal.
